CHAPTER 1 — "A Maid Doesn't Belong Here."

The grand ballroom glittered beneath crystal chandeliers worth more than most people's homes.

It was the annual Blackwood Charity Gala, where CEOs, celebrities, politicians, and billionaires gathered to celebrate wealth and power.

Champagne flowed like water.

Diamonds sparkled beneath designer gowns.

And hidden among the perfectly dressed guests stood a woman wearing a simple gray maid's uniform.

Her name was Grace Miller.

She carried a silver tray filled with crystal glasses, moving quietly through the crowd with practiced elegance.

No one noticed her.

No one cared.

To them...

She was invisible.

"Watch where you're going, maid."

A wealthy socialite deliberately bumped Grace's shoulder.

Several champagne glasses crashed onto the marble floor.

The room instantly turned silent.

Hundreds of eyes turned toward the young maid.

"Oh my God..."

"She ruined the imported crystal."

"Do you know how much those glasses cost?"

Grace immediately knelt down.

"I'm so sorry," she whispered while gathering the broken glass with trembling hands.

Before she could finish...

A sharp slap echoed across the ballroom.

SMACK!

Grace's face snapped sideways.

Her cheek burned instantly.

Standing over her was Vanessa Blackwood, the glamorous daughter of the Blackwood family—the hosts of the evening.

Vanessa's lips curled into a cruel smile.

"You filthy maid."

"Look what you've done."

"You people always ruin everything."

Grace lowered her head.

"I'm sorry, Miss Blackwood."

But Vanessa wasn't finished.

She grabbed the tray from Grace's hands and threw it across the ballroom.

The silver tray clattered loudly across the marble floor.

Guests laughed.

Phones quietly appeared.

Someone whispered,

"Record this."

Another guest chuckled.

"This is better than the auction."

Grace remained kneeling.

She could feel hundreds of eyes judging her.

Every second felt like an hour.

Vanessa folded her arms proudly.

"Everyone should see what happens when servants forget their place."

The audience applauded.

Some laughed.

Some looked away.

Not one person stepped forward.

Then Vanessa smiled even wider.

"If you want to keep your miserable job..."

"...crawl."

The room froze.

Grace slowly looked up.

"What?"

Vanessa pointed toward the scattered broken glass.

"Crawl."

"Pick up every single piece."

"With your bare hands."

"If one piece is left..."

"...you're fired."

Gasps echoed across the ballroom.

Even the orchestra stopped playing.

Grace looked around.

No one spoke.

No one defended her.

With tears quietly filling her eyes...

She slowly lowered herself onto both knees.

Then...

She began crawling across the cold marble floor.

Tiny pieces of glass sliced into her fingers.

Drops of blood stained the white marble.

The guests watched in silence.

Some smiled.

Some filmed.

Vanessa laughed.

"Ladies and gentlemen..."

"This is exactly where maids belong."

Suddenly—

A deep male voice thundered across the ballroom.

"ENOUGH."

The entire hall went silent.

The massive entrance doors slowly opened.

Every security guard instantly stood at attention.

The general manager turned pale.

Executives straightened their suits.

Someone whispered in disbelief...

"Why is he here?"

Grace slowly lifted her tear-filled eyes.

The mysterious man walked through the crowd with calm, powerful steps.

His expensive shoes stopped only inches from the kneeling maid.

Everyone held their breath.

Vanessa smiled confidently.

"Father..."

"I already handled the useless maid."

But the man never looked at Vanessa.

Instead...

He stared silently at Grace.

His hands began trembling.

His eyes slowly filled with tears.

Then—

To everyone's absolute horror...

The billionaire suddenly dropped to both knees...

Right in front of the bleeding maid.
