No one remembered the waitress's name.
Every evening, she silently moved from table to table inside the city's most luxurious restaurant, balancing silver trays while wealthy guests laughed over thousand-dollar bottles of wine. Her name tag simply read Emily.
She never complained.
Not when impatient customers snapped their fingers at her.
Not when arrogant businessmen refused to look her in the eyes.
Not even when the restaurant manager reminded her every single day that "people like us only exist to serve people like them."
That Friday night, the restaurant hosted one of the richest investors in America.
Richard Ashford.

Everyone was nervous.
The chefs double-checked every plate.

Emily was assigned to his private table simply because another waitress had called in sick.

He whispered almost to himself,
"...Where did you get that mark?"
Emily looked confused.
"I... I was born with it."
The billionaire's wine glass slipped from his hand and shattered across the marble floor.
