Chapter 2 - Hunted in the Dark FogPanic exploded in the ravine. Vector and Razor spun around, their flashlights whipping wildly through the mist. Snake was lying face down, unconscious, his radio crushed beneath a heavy boot print.

"Who’s there?!" Razor screamed, firing two blind rounds into the fog. The gunshots echoed violently off the cliff face, but the silence that followed was even more deafening.
"She’s not a soft businesswoman," Vector growled, his face pale as he drew his combat knife. "Julian lied to us! She’s trained!"
Out of the swirl of gray mist emerged the woman. But she was no longer the fragile, gentle wife who had cowered on the cliff edge. Her tearing eyes were gone, replaced by icy, razor-sharp blue eyes. She wore a black tactical vest, expert combat trousers, and held two silenced sidearms with terrifying poise.
Her name wasn't just Eleanor—to the international intelligence underworld, she was Agent Ghost, a retired elite operative who had spent a decade bringing down global criminal syndicates before attempting to settle into a quiet, civilian life.
"Julian thought he was hunting a sheep," Eleanor said softly, stepping into the dim light. "He didn't realize he was sleeping next to an apex predator."
Razor panicked and charged at her, swinging his tactical knife. Eleanor didn't even flinch. With lightning speed, she sidestepped his thrust, seized his forearm, snapped his wrist in one fluid movement, and drove her elbow directly into his temple. Razor crumpled to the earth like a sack of stones.

Vector stepped back, his weapon shaking. "What... what are you?"
"I'm the person your boss forgot to research," Eleanor whispered, stepping forward. "Now, you're going to hand over your phone, tell me every detail of Julian's plan, or you will spend the rest of your life eating through a straw."
