Chapter 10 - The Horizon of a New Dawn

Three months later, the rain was tapping gently against the glass windows of a sunlit, minimalist apartment overlooking the park.

Sienna stood by the kitchen island, sipping her morning coffee. The air smelled of fresh eucalyptus linen spray and crisp autumn air. The pale blue walls of her old house felt like a lifetime ago, a distant chapter in a book she had finished reading and placed back on the shelf.

Her phone buzzed on the counter.

She glanced down at the screen. A notification from Holloway & Associates: Asset liquidation finalized. Settlement transferred.

Sienna smiled—not a smile of malice or bitter triumph, but of pure, unadulterated peace. The courts had ruled in her favor across every single motion. Derek Vance was currently facing trial for corporate fraud, his reputation in tatters, living in a cheap studio apartment on the wrong side of the tracks after Chloe blocked his number permanently and vanished into the city’s upper-crust social scene under a new protector.

Sienna didn't care. Derek was a ghost, a cautionary tale of what happens when someone mistakes loyalty for weakness and greed for ambition.

She walked over to the floor-to-ceiling window, looking out at the vibrant green trees swaying in the morning breeze. She raised her coffee mug in a silent toast to the empty street below, took a deep, grounding breath of the clean air, and stepped forward into her future—completely free, entirely unburdened, and entirely her own.
