Chapter 7 - The MasterstrokeThe countdown clock on the wall reached its final phase:

00 Hours, 05 Minutes, 00 Seconds.

The red emergency lights inside the plane began to flash violently as the automated system prepared for execution.

Julian extended his hand toward her, holding a custom syringe filled with a clear liquid. “Give up, Elena. Step into the capsule, take the sedative, and let the program finish. If you fight me, the chip in your head will short-circuit from the stress, and you will die of a brain hemorrhage before the plane lands.”

Elena stood frozen in the shaking aisle of the supersonic jet.

Outside the windows, lightning flashed across the dark clouds. The pressure in the cabin was dropping. The weight of twenty years of deception slammed into her chest like a physical blow. Her whole life had been a script written by the monster standing in front of her.

Julian took another step forward, his smile wider, triumph shining in his eyes. “It’s checkmate, my dear daughter. You lost the moment you walked into that restaurant tonight.”

Elena lowered her gun slowly. Her head dropped.

“You’re right,” she whispered, her voice breaking. “You built me. You gave me my name. You gave me my skills.”

“Yes…” Julian purred, reaching out with the syringe. “That’s it. Accept it.”

Then, Elena looked up.

There were no tears in her eyes. No fear. Only a terrifying, predatory smirk that made Julian’s blood run cold.

“You taught me how to think ten steps ahead,” Elena said softly. “But you forgot one thing, Julian.”

“What… what are you talking about?” Julian hesitated, his hand stopping in mid-air.

“You think I found Sheikh Rashid tonight because of your breadcrumbs?” Elena chuckled, stepping forward into his space. “I didn’t go to that restaurant to catch Rashid, Julian. I went to that restaurant because I knew Rashid was a loud-mouthed idiot who would cause a scene in public, drawing every single one of your hidden double-agents into the light.”

She reached into her neck collar and pulled out a small, bloody metallic square—a microscopic microchip, barely the size of a grain of rice, held between her tweezers!

Julian gasped, staggering back. “What... what is that?!”

“The chip you put in my neck ten years ago?” Elena laughed, her voice ringing with absolute victory. “I had a rogue surgeon cut it out of my body three weeks ago in Tokyo!”

She held up her tablet. The glowing screen wasn't connected to her body at all—it was connected to the chip held in her tweezers!

“The chip in my hand isn’t connected to my brain stem anymore, Julian,” Elena declared. “It’s connected to an EMP transmitter I installed in the belly of this plane five minutes ago!”

Julian’s face went completely lifeless. “No… NO!”

“You said if my heart stops, the switch triggers?” Elena smiled coldly. “Well, let’s see what happens when the chip loses power entirely!”

With a swift movement, Elena dropped the chip into a small metal cylinder on her belt and slammed the trigger!
