Chapter 2 - The Collapse of the First PillarVictor was thrown into the back of an unmarked transport van like a sack of garbage. The heavy steel doors slammed shut, plunging him into darkness, broken only by the dim red glow of the vehicle’s internal lights.

He was screaming curses, his voice hoarse with panic now that the shock had worn off and the reality of his situation had set in. "You can't do this! This is kidnapping! You're destroying your own life for a weeping sister!"
I sat across from him on the folding jump seat, my face illuminated by the eerie red glow. I didn't blink. I didn't speak. I just watched him unravel. Fear is a fascinating thing to observe in arrogant men; it starts in the eyes, flushes the skin, and eventually turns them into pathetic animals begging for mercy.
"Where are we going?" Victor demanded, his voice cracking slightly. "If you want money, name your price. Ten million? Fifty? I can wire it right now. Whatever you spent on these mercenaries, I can triple it."
I leaned forward, resting my elbows on my knees, letting the silence stretch until it suffocated him.
"Money?" I finally spoke, my tone dangerously calm. "Victor, you still don't get it. You think this is about cash. You think because you bought judges, senators, and local police chiefs, you own the board."
I pulled a ruggedized tablet from my tactical vest and tapped the screen. The display lit up, showing a complex, branching web of corporate entities, offshore accounts, and encrypted communication logs.
Victor's face instantly drained of all color. The arrogance vanished, replaced by a sudden, freezing terror.
"How... how do you have that?" he whispered, his voice trembling. "That's federal intelligence. That's classified."
"Nothing is classified when you cross the wrong line, Victor," I said, sliding the tablet across the floor so it rested against his boots. "Over the last six hours, while you were busy torturing my sister in that factory, my team didn't just track you down. They executed Operation Clean Sweep. Your primary offshore accounts in the Cayman Islands? Frozen by Interpol. Your shell corporations in Panama? Raided and seized by international regulators. And your flagship tech firm, Hale Industries? The SEC just slapped them with emergency fraud charges, and trading has been permanently halted."
Victor stared at the tablet screen in sheer disbelief, his mouth opening and closing like a fish out of water. "No... no, that's impossible. It took me ten years to build that network. You couldn't dismantle it in a single afternoon!"
"An afternoon?" I smiled coldly. "Victor, I planned campaigns that reorganized governments in seventy-two hours. Dismantling your little criminal syndicate took my team forty minutes. The rest of the time was spent making sure you couldn't escape."
"You ruined me," he choked out, tears of absolute rage and helplessness finally spilling over his eyelids. "You took everything from me!"
"No, Victor," I stood up as the van slowed to a halt and the engine idled. "I didn't take anything from you. I simply gave you back the exact amount of pain you gave to my sister. And we are only getting started."

The back doors swung open. We weren't at a police station. We were parked inside a heavily secured, subterranean military bunker twenty miles outside the city limits—a place that didn't exist on any map.
And waiting for us in the shadows was someone Victor never expected to see again in this lifetime.
