The fall of Julian Vance sent shockwaves through the European syndicates, but Viktor Draven did not expand his territory. Instead, he did something unprecedented: he systematically dismantled half of his own front companies, divested from illegal trafficking, and redirected millions of pounds into underground shelters, orphanages, and rehabilitation centers across the UK.
The other crime bosses whispered that Viktor had gone soft, that the kidnapping of his son had broken the iron-fisted kingpin. But none of them dared to test him. Because whenever they looked at the Draven crest, they remembered the night a little girl and a stray dog walked out of the London fog and brought an empire to its knees.
Inside his high-rise penthouse overlooking the glittering night lights of the city, Viktor sat at his mahogany desk, reviewing financial reports alongside a fully recovered Leo, who had taken over the legitimate philanthropic branch of the family foundation.
"Dad," Leo said, looking up from his tablet. "There's an anonymous financial audit coming in from a shell account registered in Edinburgh. They're funneling two million pounds directly into our youth shelter fund."
Viktor paused, his pen hovering over the paper. He looked out the floor-to-ceiling glass window, watching the rain misting against the city lights far below. A faint, knowing smile touched the corners of his mouth.
"Who's the sender?" Viktor asked.
"No name," Leo replied, scrolling through the encrypted data packet. "Just a digital watermark."

Viktor leaned back in his leather chair, closing his eyes for a brief moment as the memory of a scruffy dog and a thin, mud-stained coat flashed through his mind.
"Leave it be, son," Viktor whispered, staring out into the dark, protective embrace of the London night. "Some debts can never be repaid with money. Some people just want to make sure the world doesn't forget who's watching from the dark."
