Chapter 13 - The Genetic Vault

Ignacio dropped the knife and sprinted back into the living room, Sarah hot on his heels.
April was standing beside the coffee table, her tiny fingers pressed flat against the silver flash drive Sarah had just thrown down. The moment her skin made contact with the casing, a small LED light on the drive blinked from red to a steady, glowing blue.
"What is she doing?" Ignacio gasped, dropping to his knees.
"The vault," Sarah whispered in disbelief, her eyes widening. "Marina didn't just hide the files on a server. She coded the encryption key into the infant’s DNA structure through the cord-blood transfusion. The drive only opens when her specific biological signature touches it."
As if responding to the touch, the flash drive projected a holographic interface onto the ceiling—a three-dimensional genealogical tree of every corrupt official in the Ministry of Health, along with live-streaming audio feeds from secure government servers.
