Chapter 6 - The Shadows Outside the GatesWhile the kitchen of the Whitmore estate hummed with a quiet, charged electricity, miles away in downtown Bellweather, a sleek black sedan idled outside a dimly lit diner.

Inside the car, a figure sat shrouded in the shadows of the backseat, glaring at a smartphone screen displaying live feeds of the Whitmore scandal.
It was Julian Vance—Adrien’s estranged cousin and the former executive VP of Whitmore Holdings who had been ousted three years earlier in a bitter family feud.
"They actually fell for it," Julian muttered, a dark, venomous grin spreading across his face. "Vanessa and Richard were complete idiots. They thought they were orchestrating the hostile takeover."
In the front seat, a sharp-featured corporate lawyer named Marcus turned around, tapping a thick manila folder on the dashboard.
"Mr. Vance, with the Sinclair faction disgraced and Adrien distracted by this maid scandal, the Whitmore board is deeply fractured," Marcus said, his eyes gleaming with opportunistic greed. "Our anonymous short positions are locked in. If we move on the collateralized debt obligations tomorrow morning before the markets open, Adrien won't just lose his board majority—he’ll lose his personal estate."

Julian leaned back into the leather upholstery, laughing darkly. "Let him play the white knight with his little cleaning girl tonight. By tomorrow afternoon, I’ll be sitting in the CEO’s chair, and Adrien will be begging me for a job."
Unbeknownst to them, a tiny, encrypted recording device hidden deep inside the upholstery of the sedan—planted weeks ago by one of Elena Alvarez’s most trusted contacts—was transmitting every single word directly to a secure receiver in the Whitmore estate security office.
