Chapter 7 - The Midnight Strategy MeetingBack at the estate, the glowing monitors of the security command center displayed the real-time audio transcript of Julian Vance’s plot.

Adrien stood over the main console, his face carved from granite. Beside him stood Elena Alvarez and Maya, who had refused to leave when the situation escalated from a domestic scandal to an all-out corporate war.
"Julian," Adrien muttered, his jaw tightening. "I should have known he was the ghostwriter behind Vanessa’s financial maneuvering. He’s been waiting three years to finish what our uncle started."
"He thinks you’re vulnerable because of the scandal," Elena noted, adjusting her glasses as she read the incoming data streams. "He thinks you’ll spend the morning fighting tabloid reporters instead of protecting your asset classes."
"He’s wrong," Maya said quietly.
Adrien turned to look at her. In the harsh blue light of the monitors, Maya didn't look like a service employee or a frightened daughter anymore. She looked sharp, focused, and fiercely intelligent—the former educator who had spent years analyzing human behavior and spotting patterns others missed.
"What do you see, Maya?" Adrien asked, his tone shifting to one of absolute respect.
"Julian is arrogant," Maya said, pointing a finger at the map of Whitmore Holdings subsidiary accounts on the screen. "He’s predictable. Look at his past hostile moves—he always funnels his capital through shell companies registered in Delaware under old family trusts. If we intercept his debt obligations at 8:00 AM sharp before the market bell, we don't just block his attack. We trap his liquidity."
Adrien stared at her in utter astonishment. "How do you know about Delaware shell trusts?"
Maya offered a faint, knowing smile. "Before my mother got sick, I was finishing my master's degree in corporate education and business ethics. I taught high-level financial literacy before I had to fold linen napkins for a living."

Adrien let out a sudden, bark of genuine laughter—a sound full of admiration and awe. "Is there anything you can't do, Maya Coleman?"
"Plenty," she replied, her eyes locking onto his. "But losing to Julian Vance isn't one of them."
