Chapter 5 - The Trojan HorseThe morning of the wedding, the city’s elite gathered at St. Jude’s Cathedral. The media was in a frenzy. It was the wedding of the decade.

In the bridal suite, Victoria admired her reflection. She had won. The Cole empire was hers. The brat was locked away in a shipping container at the docks, guarded by her most loyal cartel enforcers. Once the ring was on her finger, she would give the order to drop the container into the ocean.
Meanwhile, in the groom's chamber, Nathan was meticulously assembling a heavy, modified tactical vest beneath his custom Tom Ford tuxedo.
Marcus, his security chief, handed him an earpiece. “The shadow team is in position at the docks, sir. We found the container. But there are thirty armed cartel men guarding it. We need a distraction to breach.”
“I’ll give you a distraction,” Nathan said coldly.
He stepped out into the grand hallway and walked toward the altar. As the massive oak doors swung open, the wedding march began to play. The cathedral was packed with hundreds of guests—politicians, CEOs, and socialites.
Victoria walked down the aisle, looking like an absolute angel. She reached the altar, slipping her hand into Nathan's. Her grip was like a vice.
“Smile for the cameras, darling,” she whispered through her teeth. “Or your daughter drowns.”
“I am smiling,” Nathan whispered back.

The priest began the ceremony. Nathan waited for the exact right moment. As the priest asked, “If anyone objects to this union, speak now or forever hold your peace,” Nathan took a step back.
“I object,” Nathan’s voice boomed through the microphone, echoing off the vaulted ceilings.
