Chapter 6 - The Cathedral ConfessionThe crowd gasped. Murmurs ripped through the pews. Victoriaâs smile froze, her eyes flashing with panic. âNathan, what are you doing?â she hissed, stepping toward him.

Nathan reached into his jacket and pulled out a small remote. He pressed the central button.
Instantly, the massive stained-glass digital screens behind the altarâwhich were supposed to display looping floral graphicsâflickered.
Suddenly, an audio recording blasted through the cathedralâs state-of-the-art sound system. It was Victoriaâs voice, crystal clear.
âHe was an old fool who wouldn't sign over the voting shares. I just sped up the inevitable... I inherit everything by proxy.â
The entire cathedral erupted into chaos. The Police Commissioner, who was sitting in the front row, turned pale.
Victoria lunged at Nathan, pulling a concealed ceramic knife from the folds of her wedding dress. But Nathan caught her wrist, twisting it sharply until she dropped the blade.
âYouâre finished, Victoria,â Nathan said loudly.
âYou idiot!â Victoria screamed, foaming at the mouth. She snatched the priestâs microphone. âKill the girl! Drop the container into the water now!â she shrieked into her hidden earpiece.

Nathanâs heart pounded as he tapped his own earpiece. âMarcus! Sitrep! Do you have Lily?!â
Static hissed in his ear. Then, Marcusâs voice came through, breathless and bleeding. âWeâre pinned down, boss! Too many of them... theyâre pushing the container to the edge!â
