CHAPTER 3 — The Chairman Tried to Run

The chairman whispered, "This is a lie."
But his hands were shaking.
Daniel turned toward him.
"You told me my father died because of bad weather."
The old man stood slowly.
"No. Your father died because he refused to sell the company."
Then the boardroom doors opened.
Federal agents entered.
The chairman suddenly ran for the private elevator.
But before he reached it, the old man said,
"Tell them about the second letter."
Everyone froze.
Daniel stared at him.
"Second letter?"
The old man reached into his coat again.
This time, he pulled out a small black notebook.
Inside were dates, payments, signatures...
...and one photo.
Daniel looked at the photo and nearly collapsed.
May you like
It showed his father alive...
three days after the helicopter crash.
