Chapter 10 - Whispers in the SilenceLate that night, long after the gala had ended and the auditorium lights were dimmed, Graham sat alone on the stone terrace of his Lake Forest estate.

The cool November air blew gently across the dark waters of Lake Michigan, identical to the night his life had nearly ended a year ago.
The ringing in his ears was entirely gone. In its place, the world was alive with sound: the gentle lapping of waves against the shore, the rustle of autumn leaves in the wind, and the distant hum of the city lights on the horizon.
He raised a simple glass of pure, clean spring water to his lips, took a slow sip, and smiled.
Behind him, sliding glass doors parted with a soft click.
Soft, barefoot footsteps padded across the stone patio.
Graham turned to see little Lily standing there, clutching her stuffed rabbit. She looked up at him with her solemn, beautiful eyes.
Without a word, she raised her small hands and signed:
“Are you still safe?”
Graham crouched down, meeting her gaze levelly, and signed back with a heart full of absolute peace:
May you like
“Always. Because of you.”
Lily nodded, satisfied, and leaned her head gently against his shoulder, sharing the quiet beauty of a world where no warning ever needed to go unheard again.
