“Your mother is a bitter gossip, and your doctors were looking at the wrong medical files,” I said, my voice ringing out clearly across the stunned, dead-silent ballroom. “I discovered I was pregnant four days before our divorce was finalized. I didn’t tell you because I refused to let a parasite like you touch my child.”
Celeste shrieked, pointing a shaking finger at Adrian. “You told me she was completely infertile! You told me she was broken!”
“She lied to me!” Adrian screamed back at Celeste, turning purple with rage. “She tricked me!”
“Tricked you?” I stepped closer, my eyes flashing with righteous fury. “You abandoned me when I needed you most. You mocked my grief, you stole my grandmother’s inheritance, and you traded me in for a younger model who helped you commit felonies. But you didn't just lose your wife, Adrian. You lost your entire legacy.”
