Chapter 5 - THE BOARDROOM COUPBlood on the Obsidian TableThe emergency board meeting of Vale Holdings was called at 3:00 AM.

The elite members of New York’s financial aristocracy—men and women who controlled shipping lanes, media conglomerates, and real estate empires—sat in tense silence around the obsidian table on the seventieth floor.
Arthur Vale sat at the head, his expression carved from granite. To his right stood Julian, his face still bearing the faint red imprint of Sebastian’s grip from earlier that night.
The heavy mahogany doors swung open.
Sebastian walked in, flanked not by corporate lawyers, but by six operatives in tactical black gear bearing the insignia of Apex Private Security—the independent security firm Sebastian had secretly funded and operated outside his grandfather’s jurisdiction for years.
“What is the meaning of this?” demanded Lord Sterling, a senior board member and longtime ally of Arthur. “Armed guards in a corporate board meeting? Have you lost your mind, Sebastian?”
Sebastian didn’t answer right away. He walked to the head of the table, standing directly opposite his grandfather. He tossed a thick manila folder onto the polished black surface. It slid across the wood and stopped right in front of Arthur.
“Open it,” Sebastian said quietly.
Arthur slowly reached out, his arthritic fingers untying the string. He pulled out a stack of documents—bank transfers, encrypted email transcripts, and signed affidavits.
“Four years ago,” Sebastian announced to the entire room, “certain members of this executive board conspired with Marcus Vance to fabricate corporate fraud, forge legal documents, and obstruct federal and domestic communications. Specifically, they orchestrated a fraudulent embezzlement scheme using corporate funds to pay off foreign officials, while framing an innocent citizen for financial extortion.”
Lord Sterling went pale. “This is absurd! Lies! You’re fabricating evidence to stage a coup against your own grandfather!”
“Look at page twelve, Lord Sterling,” Sebastian replied smoothly. “That’s your signature authorizing the offshore wire transfer to the Cayman Islands on November 14, four years ago. Coincidentally, the exact same week my wife was forcibly removed from this building.”
The boardroom erupted into chaos. Shouts of denial and panic bounced off the glass walls.
Arthur Vale slammed his fist onto the table, his voice booming with the last remnants of his formidable authority. “Enough! I founded this company when your father was in diapers! You think a few pieces of paper can strip me of my legacy?”
“You didn’t just steal a legacy, Grandfather,” Sebastian said, leaning forward, his voice cutting through the noise like a scythe. “You stole my family. And today, the board is going to vote on Article 9 of the corporate charter: immediate termination of the patriarch and all executive officers involved in criminal obstruction.”
Julian leaped to his feet. “You can’t do that! The majority of the board is loyal to grandfather!”
“Check your phones, cousin,” Sebastian smiled coldly.

Simultaneously, the cell phones of every board member buzzed. One by one, senior executives picked up their screens, their eyes widening in sheer horror as they read the incoming emergency alerts.
“Your accounts in Zurich and the Caymans have just been frozen by federal authorities,” Sebastian explained casually. “And my private equity firm has just acquired controlling interest in all your secondary holdings. You either vote yes on my resolution right now, or you’ll be spending the holidays in federal orange.”
