Chapter 6 - A NEW FOUNDATION

The fallout was swift. Eleanor was arrested, and the board apologized to Julian. But the most significant change happened within the walls of the mansion.

Julian didn't return to the cold, distant life he had known. He stepped down as CEO to start a foundation, dedicating his wealth to creating affordable housing—specifically for single mothers.

He stood by the window of the living room, watching Daisy play in the yard. Jenna walked up beside him. The house no longer felt like a museum. There were toys scattered on the floor, the smell of fresh cookies in the air, and laughter that filled the once-dead space.

"You changed everything," Julian said, looking at her.

"We did," she replied.

"I still think of them," he admitted, looking toward the wing of the house where the nursery remained. "But for the first time, I don't feel like I'm waiting to die. I feel like I'm waiting to live."

"Then let's start today," Jenna said.

The story of the billionaire and the cleaner became a legend in the city—not because of the money, but because of the redemption. The mansion was no longer a symbol of cold isolation, but a home. And on that next Christmas Eve, the table was set for three.
