Chapter 10 - The Last Signature

The office at Harrison Cole & Associates was completely silent except for the rhythmic ticking of an antique grandfather clock in the corner.

Harrison sat behind his massive mahogany desk, the evening sunlight pouring through the floor-to-ceiling windows and casting long, golden geometric patterns across the hardwood floor.

Before him lay a final, thick manila folder labeled simply: HARRINGTON / KENSINGTON - CASE CLOSED.

Inside the folder were the final documents: the bankruptcy dissolution papers, the permanent asset forfeiture receipts, the certified court conviction transcripts, and a clean, unsigned property transfer deed transferring the last remaining commercial lot in Lower Merion to the Cole Foundation.

Harrison picked up his heavy gold fountain pen.

He didn't hesitate. With steady, practiced strokes, he signed his name across the bottom line, closing the loop on a chapter of betrayal, vengeance, and absolute justice.

He closed the folder, placed it neatly inside a locked steel filing cabinet in the corner of the room, and locked it with a sharp, satisfying click.

His phone buzzed on the desk.

He glanced down at the screen. It was a text message from Khloe: Dinner at my place tonight? I'm making lasagna. Don't be late.

A rare, unmistakable smile touched the corners of Harrison’s mouth.

He picked up his tailored overcoat, slipped it over his shoulders, and walked out of his office, turning off the lights behind him as the city of Philadelphia hummed safely outside his window.

The game was over. The board was cleared. And for the first time in years, the architect of justice finally went home.
