Chapter 5 - DEFIANT SACRIFICE: THE ULTIMATE STANDOFF FOR THE TRIPLETS' LIVES!

Dante froze, his mind reeling as he looked between the woman tied to the chair and the image of Elena etched into his soul. The woman in the chair managed to spit out her gag, laughing hysterically despite her injuries.
"Oh, Dante... you always were so easy to fool," she mocked. Her voice was identical to Elena's, but the venom in her tone was entirely different. "Did you really think sweet, innocent Elena could survive a car fire and raise triplets alone in the slums? I am Vera, her identical twin sister. The girl you left in the bunker... she isn’t Elena. She's the monster who set the fire seven years ago!"
Dante’s heart hammered against his ribs. The venom in his blood was making his vision blur, but his mind fought through the haze. No. The woman in the bunker knew the intimacy of their past. She had the quiet laughter. She had the love in her eyes.
"You're lying," Dante growled, raising his gun to Victor Moretti's head. "Give me the antidote. Now."
Victor Moretti laughed, holding the vial over the edge of the balcony, fifty stories above the pavement. "If you shoot me, the antidote falls and shatters. And your precious 'Elena' in the bunker? Silas is already there. He bypassed your panic room codes using Clara’s biometric data. Right now, your daughters are being loaded into a helicopter."
Dante’s phone buzzed in his pocket. It was a video call from Silas.
The screen flickered to life, showing the bunker's panic room thrown open. Silas held Mia by her auburn hair, a knife pressed to her throat, while Elena lay unconscious on the floor, bleeding from a head wound.
"Trade, Dante," Silas’s voice crackled through the speaker. "Bring the titanium ledger to the Boston Harbor, Pier 44, in fifteen minutes. If you are a second late, I drop the triplets into the ocean one by one."
Dante looked at Victor Moretti, then at Vera, who was smirking. In that split second, Dante realized the depth of the trap. They had divided his forces, poisoned his body, and used his deepest love against him.
With a roar of pure, unadulterated fury, Dante didn't shoot Moretti. Instead, he lunged forward, tackling Moretti over the desk and dragging him out onto the open balcony.
"You think I care about my own life?" Dante screamed into Moretti's face as they wrestled on the precipice of the fifty-story drop. Dante slammed Moretti's wrist against the iron railing, forcing him to release the vial of antidote.
As the vial fell toward the streets below, Dante caught it with his left hand, his fingers barely gripping the glass. With his right hand, he pitched Moretti over the edge. The rival Don screamed as he plummeted into the dark Boston night.
Dante didn't waste a breath. He downed the antidote in a single gulp, feeling a cold, neutralizing wave wash over his burning veins. He turned his gaze to Vera. "If you helped them hurt my daughters, death will be a mercy compared to what I do to you."
"I was forced to help them, Dante!" Vera wept, her demeanor changing instantly into terror. "Silas has my own son! The triplets... they are Elena’s! The woman in the bunker is the real Elena! They made me play this role to break your mind!"

Dante didn't care about the corporate lies anymore. He sprinted out of the penthouse, sprinting toward his helicopter on the roof. "Nico! Converge on Pier 44! We are ending this tonight!"
CHAPTER 5 HOOK: When Dante arrived at the fog-drenched Pier 44, the helicopter engine was whining, ready for takeoff. Silas stood on the edge of the dock, holding all three triplets bound together in a heavy cargo net suspended over the freezing, churning black water. But what made Dante’s blood run cold was the figure standing next to Silas, holding a remote detonator—it was Elena, her eyes vacant, a cybernetic tracking collar blinking red around her neck.
