The lock mechanism was sheared off by a directed explosive charge. Smoke billowed into the room, smelling of cordite and burning insulation. Through the gray haze, three men in black tactical gear poured into the room, automatic weapons raised.
Dominic didn't hesitate. He drew his sidearm with blinding speed, dropping the lead intruder before the man could even level his weapon. The other two scattered, taking cover behind the marble pillars and the overturned mahogany desk.
"Go!" Dominic roared, firing suppressing rounds into the pillars.

I didn't run to the panic room. Instead, I slammed my palm down on the master override key, executing the automated script that redirected all of Vance’s offshore capital into frozen federal escrow accounts. The monitors flashed bright red, displaying a series of cascading error codes.
