Because of Don Mateo’s massive influence and the overwhelming evidence gathered—including financial fraud, tax evasion, child abuse, and attempted extortion—the trial moved with lightning speed.
In the packed courtroom, Vanessa sat in a plain orange jumpsuit, her glamorous persona completely shattered. She wept openly, begging for mercy, claiming Mauricio had forced her to act against Renata.
Beatriz, stripped of her high-society status, looked ten years older, slumped in her seat as prosecutor after prosecutor laid out the systematic financial crimes she had committed using company funds.
And Mauricio sat motionless, staring at the floor, completely broken.
When the judge delivered the verdict, the room was silent:
Vanessa Luján: Found guilty of child endangerment, assault, and conspiracy to extort. Sentenced to 12 years in federal prison without parole.
Beatriz Ferrer: Found guilty of corporate fraud, money laundering, and tax evasion. Sentenced to 15 years in maximum-security lockup, with all personal assets seized.
Mauricio Ferrer: Found guilty of grand extortion, conspiracy to kidnap, treasonous corporate fraud, and child neglect. Sentenced to 45 years in prison.
As the guards handcuffed Mauricio to take him away, he looked up and saw Adriana standing near the back of the courtroom. She looked regal, composed, and completely victorious.
"Adriana!" Mauricio wailed, tears streaming down his face. "Please! For Renata's sake! Tell them to reduce the sentence! I'm her father!"

Adriana walked slowly toward the barrier separating the gallery from the defense table. She looked down at him with icy detachment.
"Renata's father died the day you stood by and let another woman hit her," Adriana said coldly. "You are nobody to us now."
