Chapter 7 - The Blueprint for WarNoah backed away into the shadows so quietly that not even a breath escaped his lips. He sprinted back up the service stairs, his heart hammering against his ribs like a sledgehammer, tears streaming hot and fast down his face.

He burst into their suite, slamming the door behind him and locking it with the deadbolt.
Caleb was already awake, sitting up in bed, rubbing his eyes against the sudden movement.
"Noah? What's wrong? Where have you been?" Caleb asked, his voice thick with sleep.
"He's going to kill her, Caleb," Noah choked out, his hands shaking so violently he could barely stand. "Sterling. I heard him on the phone. He’s going to pull Grandma's life support on the first of the month. She's not recovering—he's just keeping her in a medically induced coma until he can use us for his corporate merger!"
Caleb went completely pale. The color drained from his face until he looked like a ghost.
"No," Caleb whispered, shaking his head frantically. "No, you're lying—"
"I heard him talking to someone on his secure phone downstairs!" Noah shouted, grabbing his brother by the shoulders. "He said we were leverage! He said our old trailer was bulldozed so we had nowhere to go back to! He's a monster, Caleb! We have to get out of here tonight. We have to save Grandma!"
Caleb stared at Noah, the shock slowly melting away, replaced by a cold, terrifying brilliance.
For the past three weeks, Caleb hadn't just been reading library books. Using the advanced terminal in their study, he had been quietly hacking into Sterling Enterprises' secondary servers, mapping the corporate structure, and downloading encrypted financial records.
Caleb walked over to his nightstand, picked up his tablet, and tapped the screen. A massive, complex schematic of Julian Sterling’s corporate network lit up the dark room, complete with bank routing numbers, offshore accounts, and encrypted communications logs.
"I didn't want to believe it," Caleb said quietly, his voice dangerously steady for an eleven-year-old boy. "I thought maybe... maybe he was just cold, but that he'd keep us safe. But if he touches Grandma..."
Caleb’s fingers danced across the tablet screen, bringing up a live security feed of the subterranean garage.
"We can't just run away, Noah," Caleb said, looking up at his older brother with eyes that suddenly looked ten years older. "If we just run, his guards will hunt us down in twenty-four hours. He owns the police, he owns the judges, he owns half this city. The only way to save Grandma... is to destroy Julian Sterling first."
Noah stared at his younger brother, stunned by the sheer, ice-cold resolve radiating from him.
"How?" Noah asked. "How do we destroy a billionaire?"

Caleb smiled—a fierce, calculating grin that looked terrifyingly like Julian Sterling’s.
"Remember that silver flash drive you handed back to him in the parking garage?" Caleb tapped the screen, pulling up an encrypted file. "I made a backup copy of the decryption keys before you gave it back. And tonight... I found out where he keeps the rest of the files."
