Chapter 8 - THE FINAL REVENGE (CONCLUSION)

By the end of the week, my house was mine again.

The wall was gone. The hardwood floors had been scrubbed, polished, and repaired by a professional restoration crew paid for entirely by the Hales. The cheap white doors were in a dumpster down the street, and morning sunlight poured through the front windows once more, spreading in one clean, uninterrupted golden sheet across my rug.

I sat on my sofa, sipping a cup of coffee, breathing in the smell of fresh paint and clean air.

Mason was gone. His gaming chair, his clothes, and his lies had been cleared out completely. A restraining order was tucked safely in my filing cabinet alongside the certified deed to my home—the deed that now bore only one name, completely untarnished.

As for Chloe, I found out later that Linda Hale, terrified of a public scandal involving a future grandchild, had set up a modest trust fund for the baby on the strict condition that Mason was never allowed near it. Chloe had moved back to her hometown, free of the man who had tried to use her as a pawn.

My phone buzzed on the coffee table. It was a notification from a local real estate forum where Mason had tried to boast about his "new property venture" just a week ago. I smiled, typing a quick, public comment with a link to the public record showing the fraudulent deed cancellation.

The truth was out. The trap had snapped shut.

I looked around my living room, watching the sunlight dance across the walls. Every corner of this place still carried proof that I had survived. They had tried to erase my name, tried to take the one thing that belonged to me, but they had failed.

I took another sip of my coffee, leaning back against the cushions. The house was quiet, peaceful, and entirely mine.
