Chapter 7 - The Empire BurnsWith a single, decisive keystroke, Damian uploaded the encrypted audio files and financial dossiers to every major news network, law enforcement database, and underworld dark-net ledger across the globe.

For three seconds, the bunker was dead silent.

Then, the comms array on the main console lit up like a Christmas tree.

Phones were ringing off the hook. Encrypted emergency channels from Moretti safe houses began screaming with panic, shouting frantic orders in Italian and English. On the live satellite feeds of the city above, we watched in real-time as black-clad federal tactical teams—backed by anonymous, heavy-handed enforcers—swarmed Moretti-owned shipping yards, luxury casinos, and waterfront warehouses.

“They’re falling apart,” Viktor barked, a wide grin splitting his scarred face as he watched the monitor feeds. “Accounts are being frozen globally by international regulators. Their front companies are collapsing faster than a house of cards. Marco’s empire is imploding in real-time.”

Upstairs, the heavy pounding against the bunker’s steel door suddenly stopped.

The frantic shouting of Marco’s mercenary guards turned into panicked murmurs. Through the high-definition security monitors in the courtyard, we watched as Marco’s men dropped their weapons, pulling out their glowing cell phones as emergency alert notifications flooded their screens.

Marco Moretti himself appeared on the courtyard camera, his face pale, his tailored suit disheveled, staring frantically at his phone screen as his entire world disintegrated around him.

“Boss! The federal marshals are hitting our main estate in Milan! Our accounts are wiped clean!” one of his frantic guards screamed.

Marco looked up at the security camera lens pointing directly at the bunker entrance, his eyes wide with unadulterated terror. He knew exactly who was watching.

Damian leaned forward, pressing the intercom button on the bunker console.

“Can you hear me, Marco?” Damian’s voice echoed through the external speakers across the entire estate courtyard, cold, calm, and absolute.

Marco froze, staring up at the speaker box like a cornered rat.

“Damian…” Marco choked out, his voice trembling with helpless fury. “You… you ruined everything!”

“You stole my child. You broke a mother’s heart. You thought you could play God with our lives,” Damian’s voice thundered across the courtyard. “And now, you have nothing left.”

Before Marco could scream another word, the sound of screeching tires and flashing red-and-blue sirens flooded the courtyard. Federal tactical teams swarmed from the shadows, pinning Marco and his remaining men to the cold stone ground, slapping heavy steel handcuffs onto the wrists of the man who thought he was untouchable.

The war was over. In less than ten minutes, the Moretti syndicate had been completely wiped off the map.
