Chapter 10 - The New Terms

Serena stood up slowly, holding Niko securely against her heart. She towered over him, not with physical strength, but with the unyielding authority of a mother who had walked through hell and emerged completely sovereign.

"You won't burn the syndicate, Lucien," Serena said, her gaze locking onto his with absolute finality. "You will run it differently. Every decision, every contract, every partnership will pass through my desk first. We are equal partners in this life, or you walk out that door right now and never see either of us again."

Lucien stared at her, stunned by the sheer magnitude of her terms. She wasn't asking for an apology; she was demanding half of his empire.
