Chapter 4 - The Chaos of the FloodWater hammered against the tile, turning the white corridor into a blinding mirror of reflections and chaos.

Vincent didn't hesitate. He dropped to the wet floor, sweeping his arm to kick a heavy steel medical cart directly into Vance’s shins. Vance yelled in surprise, his grip on the nurse slipping as he stumbled backward.

"Run, Leo! Run to the stairwell!" Vincent shouted over the roaring alarm.

Leo, shivering and wide-eyed with terror, bolted out of the examination room, his small sneakers slapping frantically against the puddles. One of the mercenaries lunged after him, raising a stun baton.

Vincent intercepted him mid-air, tackling the operative with the ferocious weight of a cornered predator. He slammed the man’s head against the concrete pillar until the mercenary went limp.

When Vincent looked up, Vance and the remaining gunman had vanished into the smoky haze of the stairwell, dragging the nurse as a human shield.

Vincent rushed back into the room. Leo was cowering beneath the medical table, his arms wrapped tightly around his knees, trembling violently.

Vincent dropped to his knees, pulling the boy into his chest. "I've got you. I'm right here. Nobody is ever going to touch you."

"Dad... they're bad men," Leo sobbed into Vincent’s expensive jacket, staining the fabric with his tears.

"They're ghosts, son," Vincent whispered, his eyes flashing with a cold, terrifying fury. "And I'm going to put them back in the dark."
