Chapter 1 - The Ghost from the Hallway

HOOK: They thought she belonged in a nursing home. But when Daniel looked at her faded shoe, he realized she didn't just belong in the history books—she owned the very ground he stood on. And she was here for revenge.

The silence in the studio was heavy, suffocating. The music had stopped, but the echoing hum of the piano strings still vibrated in the air. Daniel’s heart hammered against his ribs like a trapped bird. His eyes were glued to the faded ink inside the satin shoe: Elena Rostova.

The name belonged to the prima ballerina absolute of the century. The woman who had vanished thirty years ago at the peak of her fame. The woman whose portrait—young, radiant, and fierce—hung right above the school's entrance.

"Madame... Rostova?" Daniel’s voice cracked. The arrogant, untouchable choreographer suddenly looked like a terrified child.

The elderly woman didn't smile. She lowered her leg from a flawless arabesque, her breathing steady, unaffected by the intense physical exertion. She looked around the room, her piercing blue eyes locking onto every single student who had laughed at her just moments before. The girl who had made the "retirement club" joke buried her face in her hands, trembling.

"You teach them technique, young man," Elena said, her voice cutting through the cold room like a razor. "But you forgot to teach them respect. And without respect, ballet is nothing but acrobatics for the soulless."

Daniel swallowed hard, stepping forward. "I... I apologize deeply, Madame. If I had known—"

"If you had known, you would have bowed," Elena interrupted, lifting her chin. "But a true artist sees the dance, not the wrinkles. You told me ballet is not a place for people like me. The truth is, Daniel... this school is no longer a place for people like you."

Before Daniel could ask what she meant, the heavy wooden doors of the studio swung open. Two men in expensive Italian suits walked in, followed by a woman clutching a leather briefcase.

The woman stepped forward, looking at Elena with deep reverence. "Everything is finalized, Madame Rostova. The wire transfer cleared five minutes ago."

Elena took her warm-up jacket back from the floor. She looked at Daniel, a chilling, triumphant smile finally touching her lips. "Meet the new sole owner and chairwoman of the Grand Metropolitan Ballet Academy, Daniel. And my first executive order? You're all on probation. Let the real audition begin."

THE NEXT HOOK: Daniel thought his job was the only thing at stake. He had no idea that Elena Rostova knew the dark, dirty secret behind how he became the lead choreographer—and she was about to expose it to the world.
