Chapter 5 - The Unmasking

HOOK: You think you know who the villain is. But when the security footage played on the giant screen, it wasn't Daniel's face that shocked the crowd. It was the person holding the camera.
The giant projection screen lowered behind Elena. The audience murmured in anticipation, sensing a massive scandal.
"Let us see who tried to sabotage this historic night," Elena announced.
The video played. It showed the audio control room. A figure in a black hoodie was seen uploading the corrupted file. But as the figure turned to leave, they pulled down their hood.
It wasn't Daniel.
It was Julian, the billionaire donor.
The crowd gasped. Daniel, standing in the wings, stared in utter shock. He turned to look for Julian, but the billionaire was already trying to slip out of the VIP exit. Security guards blocked his path.
"Wait!" Daniel shouted, running onto the stage, completely breaking protocol. "Julian, you told me you wouldn't do anything! Why did you do this?!"
Elena looked at Daniel with a mixture of pity and cold calculation. "Because, Daniel, Julian never cared about your talent. He cared about control. He used your fear to keep you dependent on his money and his protection. He was the one who engineered the 'accident' that broke Leo’s ankle three years ago—not you. He blamed it on you to ensure you would never leave him."
Daniel felt his entire world view shatter. The guilt he had carried for three years, the belief that he was a monster who had ruined his best friend's life—it was all a lie manufactured by the man he trusted.
Leo walked over to Daniel, his eyes dark but clear. "I knew it all along, Daniel. I never hated you. I hated him. And I knew the only way to expose a billionaire was to create a stage so big he couldn't hide."
Julian laughed maniacally from the back of the theater as police officers approached him. "So what?! I fund this place! Without me, you are all nothing! You are a washed-up old woman, a crippled boy, and a talentless fraud!"
Elena stepped forward, her stature commanding and regal. "I don't need your money, Julian. And as for who is nothing... let the final vote determine that."
The electronic voting screens for the audience and students lit up. The results were instantaneous.
Leo: 98% Daniel: 2%

Daniel dropped to his knees on the stage, ruined, humiliated, and completely stripped of his identity. He closed his eyes, waiting for the police, waiting for the end.
THE NEXT HOOK: But Elena Rostova didn't call the police on Daniel. Instead, she knelt beside him and whispered a secret that changed the entire meaning of the story—and left the world in absolute shock.
