CHAPTER 4 — The Name on the Second Letter

Victor's arrest should have ended everything.
But it didn't.
Three days later, Emily received a package with no return address.
Inside was another envelope.
Older.
Darker.
Sealed with black wax.
Her hands trembled as she opened it.
On the first page, written in her mother's handwriting, were the words:
"If Richard's letter has been found... then Victor was never the only one."
Emily stopped breathing.
There had been another person involved.
Someone closer than she ever imagined.
Then she saw the name.
May you like
Her grandmother.
Margaret.
