CHAPTER 8 — The Billionaire's Perfect Daughter

Emily traveled to New York determined to confront Eleanor Ashcroft.

The Ashcroft estate looked like something from another world.

Marble fountains.

Iron gates.

Private security.

Inside the mansion, portraits of Eleanor's family covered every wall.

Then Emily froze.

Standing beneath the grand staircase...

Was a woman who looked exactly like her.

Same eyes.

Same smile.

Same scar beneath the chin.

Grace.

For several long seconds...

Neither woman spoke.

It felt like staring into a mirror that had lived another life.

Grace broke the silence first.

"I've been waiting for you."

Emily's heart stopped.

"You knew?"

Grace nodded slowly.

"I found out five years ago."

Emily couldn't understand.

"If you knew I existed... why didn't you come?"

Grace lowered her head.

"Because Mother said if I ever contacted you..."

"...someone would die."

Before Emily could answer, Eleanor entered the room.

Elegant.

Calm.

Untouchable.

"I suppose the truth has finally arrived."

She confessed she had paid millions to cover up the twins' separation.

Not because she wanted to steal a child...

But because Grace had been dying from a rare genetic disease.

Only one experimental treatment existed.

Richard could never have afforded it.

Eleanor believed she had saved Grace's life.

But in doing so...

She destroyed another family forever.

Emily wanted to hate her.

Instead...

She saw genuine regret in Eleanor's eyes.

Then every light inside the mansion suddenly went dark.

Gunshots shattered the silence.

Security alarms screamed.

Masked men stormed through the front doors.

May you like

One voice echoed through the mansion.

"Find the sisters!"
