💥 CHAPTER 9 — Her Father Was the Enemy... But His Final Confession Changed Everything

Emma couldn't breathe.
The elderly man standing at the head of the table looked exactly like the father she had buried.
The same warm eyes.
The same scar above his eyebrow.
The same gentle voice.
"Hello, my little girl."
Tears streamed down Emma's face.
"I buried you..."
The man smiled sadly.
"No."
"You buried the man I allowed the world to believe was me."
The twelve masked leaders watched silently.
Emma's voice trembled.
"You're... The Supreme Leader?"
He slowly shook his head.
"No."
"I'm only the man wearing the mask."
He removed the gold ring from his finger and placed it on the table.
"The real leader has never shown his face."
Emma stared at him.
"What do you mean?"
Her father sighed.
"For twenty-five years..."
"I've been pretending to control The Circle."
"I'm their prisoner."
The room fell silent.
One of the masked members suddenly stood.
"That's enough."
A pistol appeared in his hand.
BANG!
Emma's father shoved her aside.
The bullet tore through his shoulder instead.
Chaos erupted.
Gunfire echoed across the chamber.
Smoke filled the room.
Her father grabbed Emma's hand.
"Run!"
They escaped through a hidden passage beneath the fortress.
As they ran, he handed her a small black flash drive.
"Everything you need is here."
"The names."
"The accounts."
"The politicians."
"The judges."
"Every member of The Circle."
Emma stared at the drive.
"Why didn't you destroy them yourself?"
He smiled weakly.
"Because..."
"I was waiting for Vincent."
At that same moment...
Vincent's helicopters surrounded the island.
Missiles exploded against the fortress walls.
Elite teams stormed the docks.
Marco pointed toward the surveillance screen.
"Boss!"
"We've found Emma!"
Without hesitation, Vincent jumped from the helicopter onto the collapsing rooftop.
Bullets flew around him.
Explosions shook the building.
He fought through wave after wave of mercenaries.
Every step brought him closer to Emma.
Finally...
They saw each other across the burning control room.
Neither spoke.
Neither moved.
Then Emma ran into his arms.
For several seconds...
The war disappeared.
Nothing mattered except that they were alive.
"I never betrayed you," Emma whispered through tears.
Vincent gently held her face.
"I never believed you did."
Before another word could be spoken...
A sniper's bullet struck Emma's father in the chest.
He collapsed.
Emma screamed.
Vincent rushed to him.
With his final breath, the old man looked directly at Vincent.
"I failed your father..."
"Don't fail my daughter."
He placed Emma's hand into Vincent's.
"Protect her..."
Then...
He died smiling.
Emma buried her face against Vincent's shoulder as the island burned around them.
They believed...
May you like
It was finally over.
They were wrong.
