Chapter 4 - THE ALLIANCE OF THE DAMNED

The billionaire returns, and he’s no longer playing by the rules.The tinted window of the SUV rolled down to reveal Joseph Whitmore. His eyes were blazing with a terrifying fury.

"Get in!" Joseph ordered.

Alicia didn't hesitate. She threw herself into the backseat, shielding Emily with her body as the SUV slammed into reverse and tore away from the mansion gates, leaving a screaming Victoria and a bleeding Marcus behind in the headlights.

Inside the car, Alicia was hyperventilating, holding the wet diary tightly. "They tried to kill us, Joseph. They killed your family. Five years ago... it was them. They sabotaged the plane. And they're poisoning your inhaler!"

Joseph didn't look shocked. He looked dead inside, his knuckles white on the steering wheel.

"I know," Joseph said quietly. "The board meeting was a setup to keep me away. But my security team intercepted a wire transfer from Julian to a private account in Switzerland, paid to an aviation mechanic five years ago. I came back to confront them. I didn't know they would target you."

He looked in the rearview mirror at Emily, who was shivering but safe, clutching her mother.

"Where are we going?" Alicia asked, trembling. "We can't go to the police. If they control your company, they control the city."

"We aren't going to the police," Joseph said, a dark smile appearing on his face. "We are going to the one place they can never touch us. The media."

Joseph drove them to a secure, underground bunker-style safehouse located in the industrial district of the city. For the next forty-eight hours, Joseph, Alicia, and a team of loyal cyber-security experts worked around the clock. They compiled the toxicology reports, the late wife’s diary entries, and the financial paper trails linking Julian and Victoria to the aviation sabotage.

But Julian and Victoria weren't stupid. Realizing they were exposed, they launched a counter-strike.

The next morning, every major news outlet aired a breaking story: “Billionaire Joseph Whitmore mentally incapacitated, held hostage by rogue maid who is extorting the family for millions.” A warrant was issued for Alicia’s arrest.

"They've flipped the narrative," Alicia said, staring at the TV screen in horror. "If I show my face, I’ll be arrested instantly. They’ll take Emily away."

Joseph stood up, straightening his tailored suit. He looked every bit the ruthless titan who had built an empire.
