Chapter 6 - THE FINAL BLOW"Family?" I repeated softly, stepping back gracefully so his hands clutched empty air. "Richard, you never knew what family meant. To you, a family was just an accessory—a polished ornament to display at high-society galas while you did whatever you pleased behind closed doors."

Richard scrambled up, his face twisting from desperate begging back into flashes of bitter entitlement. "You cold-hearted bitch! You planned this all along, didn't you?! You lured me into a false sense of security, you watched me build my life, just so you could rip it away!"

"No, Richard," I replied, my voice chillingly calm as I stepped closer to him, towering over him despite my smaller stature. "You built your life on a foundation of sand, arrogance, and cruelty. I simply removed the props and let gravity do its job."

Marcus signaled the two security guards standing at the entrance of the balcony. They moved in swiftly, grabbing Richard by the shoulders and lifting him off his feet.

"Get your hands off me! Do you know who I am?!" Richard roared, thrashing wildly as they dragged him back toward the doors.

"As of right now, Mr. Sterling, you're nobody," Marcus said coldly, shutting the balcony doors right in his face, cutting off his frantic screams.

The silence returned—a peaceful, absolute silence that felt like healing.

Later that afternoon, I walked into the newly renovated East Wing of the estate. The room had been transformed into a bright, sensory-friendly art and therapy studio for Leo. My son was sitting at a large wooden table, completely absorbed in painting a vibrant, colorful mural of a superhero dragon on the wall. No night terrors. No trembling hands. Just the pure, uninhibited joy of a seven-year-old boy who finally felt safe in his own home.

I knelt beside him, dipping a brush into a cup of bright blue paint and adding a streak to the dragon's wing. Leo looked up at me, his big eyes shining with a brightness I hadn't seen in years.

"Mommy, is this our house forever?" he asked softly.

I kissed the top of his head, smiling warmly. "Forever and always, sweet boy. No one will ever hurt us here again."
