🔥 CHAPTER 6 — THE MAN WHO DESTROYED HER LIFE WAS THE ONE SHE ONCE PLANNED TO MARRY

The photograph slipped from Sofia's trembling fingers.

Samuel quickly picked it up.

The moment he saw the face, his eyes widened.

"Victor Salazar..."

One mechanic frowned.

"Who's that?"

Samuel looked as though he'd seen a ghost.

"He wasn't just another engineer."

"He was Dr. Alvarez's research partner."

"And..."

He hesitated.

"...they were engaged."

The entire hangar fell silent.

Andres slowly looked toward Sofia.

"You were going to marry him?"

She closed her eyes.

"There was a time when I trusted him more than I trusted myself."

Years earlier...

Victor and Sofia had been known as aviation's brightest young minds.

Together they designed revolutionary engine technology that promised to make private jets safer and more fuel-efficient than ever before.

They worked side by side.

Dreamed together.

Built their future together.

Or so Sofia believed.

Only months before their wedding...

Everything fell apart.

Confidential research disappeared.

Patents were secretly sold.

Financial records were altered.

Someone had forged Sofia's electronic signature on illegal authorization documents.

When investigators arrived...

Every piece of evidence pointed directly at her.

Victor had cried during the trial.

He hugged Sofia before she was escorted away.

He whispered,

"I'll prove you're innocent."

Then...

He disappeared.

Sofia spent years believing he had been another victim.

But tonight...

Federal investigators uncovered the truth.

Victor hadn't disappeared.

He had accepted nearly $300 million from competing aerospace corporations in exchange for stealing Sofia's research and framing her for the entire operation.

One mechanic slammed his fist onto the table.

"He sold the woman he loved..."

"For money."

Agent Carter nodded grimly.

"Not only that."

"He became CEO of one of the largest aerospace companies in Europe."

Samuel couldn't hide his anger.

"He built his fortune using Sofia's inventions."

"And let the whole world believe she was a criminal."

At that exact moment...

An investigator's radio crackled.

"Target located."

"Repeat."

"Victor Salazar has boarded his private aircraft."

"Attempting departure."

Every eye turned toward Sofia.

She took a slow breath.

Then smiled.

Not with joy.

With certainty.

"He won't get far."

Agent Carter frowned.

"What do you mean?"

Sofia calmly reached for a tablet lying on the workbench.

She tapped a few keys.

A satellite map appeared.

A blinking signal flashed from Victor's jet.

Then another window opened.

Across the screen appeared a message.

REMOTE ENGINE SAFETY LOCK ACTIVATED

Samuel looked at her in astonishment.

"You installed that system?"

"I designed it years ago."

"It prevents an aircraft from taking off if critical safety inspections are bypassed."

"And Victor never realized..."

"...the code protecting every engine in his fleet still answers to its original creator."

Outside, another investigator's voice burst through the radio.

"The aircraft has stopped on the runway."

"The engines shut down automatically."

"The suspect is still onboard."

Seconds later...

The entire hangar erupted into applause.

For the first time in eight long years...

The man who had stolen Sofia's future had nowhere left to run.

But as Agent Carter's phone rang again, his expression suddenly darkened.

He slowly looked at Sofia.

"Doctor..."

"We've just received new intelligence."

"The conspiracy didn't end with Victor."

"There is one final mastermind..."

"The person who controlled everyone else."

May you like

"And according to the evidence..."

"That person is already on the way here."
