🔥 CHAPTER 7 — THE FINAL MASTERMIND WALKED INTO THE HANGAR... AND EVERYONE STOOD FROZEN

The applause died instantly.

Every head turned toward the massive hangar doors.

Outside, the flashing lights of federal vehicles reflected across the polished floor.

Agent Michael Carter pressed a hand to his earpiece.

His expression became unusually serious.

"Everyone stay where you are."

"The final suspect has arrived."

Silence swallowed the hangar.

Even the jet engine, now idling smoothly, seemed quieter than before.

A sleek black limousine rolled slowly through the security gate.

Its windows were dark enough to hide everyone inside.

Two security agents stepped forward.

The rear door opened.

An elderly man in an expensive charcoal suit calmly stepped out, leaning on an elegant walking cane.

His silver hair was perfectly combed.

His face carried the confidence of someone who had spent decades giving orders.

Samuel gasped.

"No..."

"I don't believe this."

One of the younger mechanics whispered,

"Who is he?"

Samuel answered in a trembling voice.

"Eduardo Montenegro."

"The former Chairman of the International Aerospace Standards Council."

The room erupted in disbelief.

For more than thirty years, Montenegro had been celebrated as the man who supposedly made aviation safer across the world.

Governments trusted him.

Manufacturers obeyed him.

Airlines praised him.

He had received medals from presidents and kings.

To the public, he was a hero.

To Sofia...

He was the man who had destroyed her life.

Montenegro smiled politely as he approached.

"So..."

"You finally figured it out."

His calmness unsettled everyone.

Agent Carter stepped forward.

"Eduardo Montenegro."

"You're under investigation for fraud, bribery, obstruction of justice, conspiracy, and multiple counts of endangering public safety."

The old man chuckled.

"Investigation?"

"My young friend..."

"I've survived investigations for thirty-five years."

He looked directly at Sofia.

"You were always too intelligent for your own good."

Sofia met his gaze without fear.

"You knew those engine parts would fail."

"I knew they would need replacement."

"There's a difference."

Her voice hardened.

"No."

"The difference is measured in human lives."

Montenegro shrugged.

"Every industry has acceptable losses."

The words echoed through the hangar.

Several mechanics clenched their fists.

Samuel took one angry step forward.

"You called innocent passengers acceptable losses?"

The old man smiled coldly.

"I called them statistics."

Without warning...

Andres Yavregi walked directly toward Montenegro.

His face burned with rage.

"You manipulated my father."

"You convinced him Sofia was guilty."

"You turned honest companies into your personal bank."

Montenegro laughed.

"Your father wanted profits."

"I simply showed him the fastest road."

Andres raised his fist.

Before he could strike...

Sofia gently grabbed his arm.

"No."

She looked into his eyes.

"If you hit him now..."

"He becomes the victim."

"Let the truth destroy him."

Montenegro smiled confidently.

"You still think you've won."

"You've arrested a few executives."

"But you'll never prove I ordered anything."

Then Sofia quietly removed a small metallic flash drive from her pocket.

"I don't have to prove it."

"I recorded it."

Montenegro's smile disappeared.

For the first time that night...

Fear appeared in his eyes.
