Chapter 3 - The SiegeThe quiet, luxury neighborhood was shattered by the arrival of three black SUVs. Men in tactical gear swarmed the perimeter.

"Get to the panic room," Daniel ordered, shoving a heavy pistol into his waistband. He wasn't just a doctor anymore; he was the ghost of a man who had once been a black-ops engineer.

"I won't leave Lily!" Emma screamed.

"You won't have to," Daniel shouted, typing a code into the keypad behind the bookshelf. A section of the wall slid open to reveal a reinforced concrete bunker. "Stay in there. If I don't come back in twenty minutes, use the secondary exit in the basement. There is a bag with passports and enough cash to get you to Montreal. Trust no one."

Emma slammed the heavy door shut, but she didn't just hide. She looked at the tablet inside the bunker. Her father had left a digital footprint. As she scrolled, she realized the locket wasn't just an heirloom; it was a physical key. She pressed the silver locket into the sensor on the tablet.

The screen exploded with data—bank account numbers, GPS locations, and a video file. She hit play. It was her father, looking younger, sitting in this very room, talking directly to her.

"Emma," his voice filled the bunker. "If you’re seeing this, Daniel failed to protect the perimeter. You have to finish the job."
