Chapter 19 - Epilogue — The Art of the TrapThe crisp autumn air of New York carried the scent of woodsmoke and damp earth as I stepped off the private elevator onto the penthouse terrace of our downtown residence—the very same high-rise where this entire chaotic journey had begun.

The city stretched out below me in a glittering mosaic of lights, vast, beautiful, and full of infinite promise.
Marcus stepped out behind me onto the terrace, wrapping a warm cashmere throw around my shoulders and resting his chin gently on my shoulder.
“Penny for your thoughts?” he murmured softly, kissing my cheek.
I looked out over the skyline, watching the distant headlights stream across the bridges like rivers of gold.
“I was just thinking about how fragile ambition is when it’s built on deceit,” I said quietly, leaning back against him. “Jason thought he was the smartest person in every room. He thought he could manipulate everyone around him to secure his own empire.”
“And instead, he built his own prison,” Marcus added, tightening his arms around me.
“Exactly,” I smiled, taking a slow, deep breath of the cool evening air. “Some people spend their whole lives running from the storms. But if you know how to weather the wind... you can turn the hurricane into your own weapon.”
Marcus laughed softly, raising his glass in a silent toast to the glittering skyline before us.

“To the master strategist,” he toasted quietly.
“To freedom,” I replied, clinking my glass against his as the city lights flickered below us, shining brighter and clearer than ever before.
