Chapter 4 - The Eviction NoticeThe front door of the mansion stood wide open. Inside, chaos reigned.

Graham was shouting furiously into his phone, his hair disheveled, wearing the exact same wrinkled clothes from the night before. Vivian was pacing the entryway, her face mottled with rage, screaming at a pair of bewildered movers who were refusing to touch anything.

“What do you mean you won't move our furniture?!” Vivian shrieked at the foreman. “We are the owners of this estate! My son is a senior executive at Harrington Luxe!”

“Ma'am, the deed lists Vale International Holdings as the sole legal owner, and we have a court-ordered writ of possession,” the foreman replied calmly, holding up clipboard paperwork. “Everything inside this house is subject to immediate asset seizure.”

“That’s impossible!” Graham yelled, storming toward the door.

That was when the heavy oak doors pushed open wider, and the click of my Louboutin heels echoed across the marble foyer.

Clack. Clack. Clack.

The entire room went dead silent. Graham stopped mid-stride. Vivian froze, her mouth hanging open as she turned her head slowly toward the doorway.

I stepped inside, pulling off my sunglasses and letting them slide down my nose so they could see the icy, calculated gaze staring right back at them.

“Looking for someone, Graham?” I asked, my voice carrying effortlessly across the grand hall.

Graham’s jaw dropped. He stared at me—truly stared at me—taking in the bespoke cashmere coat, the armed security guards standing behind me, and the aura of absolute, untouchable power radiating from my posture.

“Evelyn...?” Graham choked out, his voice cracking horribly. “What... what is the meaning of this? Why are there cops here? What are you wearing? Where are the babies?!”

“The babies are safe, warm, and resting comfortably in a penthouse you couldn't afford to rent for a single afternoon,” I replied coldly, walking slowly toward the grand staircase where he stood.

Vivian rushed forward, pointing a trembling, manicured finger at my face. “You—you miserable little scam artist! Did you stage a break-in? Did you steal money from my son? Arrest her, officer! She’s trespassing!”

The sheriff deputy stepped forward, holding up his hand. “Ma'am, I suggest you watch your tone. This is Ms. Evelyn Vale. Founder and CEO of Vale International Holdings. She owns this property, she owns your company, and she owns every single asset you think you possess.”

The words hung in the air like a guillotine blade dropping.
