The silence returned to the penthouse suite, warm, peaceful, and absolute.

I walked over to the play mat and knelt down beside my boys. Toby reached up with his tiny, perfect fingers, grabbing onto my thumb with a surprising amount of strength. Leo let out a soft, sleepy yawn, curling up against the plush fabric.

I picked them both up, cradling them close against my chest, breathing in that sweet, intoxicating scent of newborn babies that no amount of money could ever buy.
