CHAPTER 7 — Emily's Terrifying Confession: "I Was Raised by the Men Who Killed My Family"

Three days after the prison attack, Emily sat inside a heavily guarded federal safe house.
Two FBI agents stood outside her room.
Kate stood alone inside.
Neither woman spoke for nearly a minute.
Finally, Emily broke the silence.
"I thought you hated me."
Kate looked at her.
"I thought you were dead."
Emily lowered her eyes.
"So did I."
She slowly began telling the story she had buried for twelve years.
After the safe house exploded, members of the Black Falcon Syndicate had found her alive beneath the rubble.
Instead of killing her, they took her.
Not out of mercy.
Out of usefulness.
The syndicate's mysterious leader believed a child raised inside darkness would become the perfect successor.
Emily grew up surrounded by smugglers, assassins, hackers, and corrupt politicians.
She learned five languages before turning fifteen.
She could crack encrypted communication systems, forge identities, and disappear across international borders without leaving a trace.
But she never forgot one memory.
Kate shielding her with her own body during the explosion.
"I spent twelve years pretending to become one of them," Emily whispered.
"I was waiting for one chance to escape."
Kate remained silent.
She wanted to believe her.
But years of undercover work had taught her never to trust appearances.
Emily slowly placed a flash drive on the table.
"Everything is on here."
"Bank accounts."
"Politicians they bribed."
"Arms shipments."
"The names of undercover agents they murdered."
Kate picked up the drive.
"This could destroy Black Falcon."
Emily shook her head.
"No."
"It'll only make them desperate."
At that exact moment, every light inside the safe house suddenly went dark.
Emergency power failed.
The backup generators never started.
Someone had cut electricity to the entire block.
Outside...
The two FBI agents collapsed one after another.
Not from bullets.
From tranquilizer darts.
A calm voice echoed through the hallway.
"Bring Emily home."
Kate immediately recognized it.
Not because she had heard it before...
May you like
But because Marcus had described it perfectly.
The Ghost had arrived.
