Chapter 19 - The Promise Kept

On a warm autumn afternoon, Damian and I drove out to the quiet coastal overlook just past the city limits—the very place where Elena’s car had supposedly plunged into the sea years ago.
The ocean stretched out endlessly before us, a vast expanse of deep blue meeting the brilliant horizon. The wind whipped our hair, carrying the sharp, clean scent of salt and sea spray.
I stood by the stone barrier, holding a single white rose in my hand.
Damian stood beside me, his hand resting supportively on the small of my back.
"Are you ready?" he asked gently.
I nodded, taking a deep breath. I raised my hand and tossed the white rose over the edge, watching as the wind caught it, carrying it gracefully down toward the crashing waves below.
It wasn't a tribute to Elena, or to the monsters who had tried to tear our lives apart. It was a final closing of the book on pain, betrayal, and the dark ghosts of the past.

Damian smiled back, taking my hand in his and intertwining our fingers tightly. "Let's go home, Emily."
