Chapter 4 - The Empress ReturnsAt 6:00 AM sharp, the massive crystal chandelier in the grand lobby flickered once, twice, and then blazed with a blinding, pristine white light. The heavy glass double doors swung open automatically, and a hush fell over the assembled crowd of staff, early-morning guests, and media personnel who had mysteriously gathered outside.

A black Rolls-Royce Phantom glided silently up to the entrance.

The rear door opened, and a pair of Christian Louboutin heels stepped gracefully onto the pristine marble pavement.

Elena Montague stepped out.

She was wearing a tailored white trench coat over a midnight-blue silk dress. Her dark hair was styled in sleek, effortless waves, and resting gently against her collarbone was the very same emerald pendant Julian had claimed was "lost," now catching the early morning sunlight with breathtaking brilliance.

She wasn't the broken, soaked woman who had been thrown into the rain just nine hours earlier. She was the undisputed sovereign of the empire.

Flanked by two senior corporate legal partners holding thick leather-bound portfolios, Elena walked up the grand stone steps. The hotel staff—every single manager, receptionist, and concierge who had lowered their eyes the night before—instantly straightened their posture, their faces pale with shock and realization.

The general manager of the flagship resort, a man named Henderson who had eagerly helped Julian throw Elena out, stepped forward, stammering profusely.

"Mrs... Mrs. Vance—I mean, Director Montague! We... we had no idea—"

Elena didn't even break her stride. She didn't look at him. Her voice, calm, crystal clear, and carrying absolute authority, echoed across the silent lobby.

"Mr. Henderson, your employment contract clause 14.2 stipulates immediate termination for dereliction of duty and failure to uphold corporate ethical standards. Hand over your keys. You have ten minutes to clear your office."

Henderson’s face turned the color of ash. He opened his mouth to protest, but one look at the towering legal counsel behind Elena silenced him instantly. He bowed his head, trembling, and unclipped his master keycard, placing it on the nearest marble table.

Elena walked toward the private elevator bank. The digital screens, which had flashed error codes for Julian just hours ago, immediately recognized her approach.
