Chapter 8 - The Heir to the EmpireThree months later, the sprawling iron gates of the Castellano estate in Westchester swung open to welcome a new era. The dark, forbidding fortress had been subtly transformed; colorful gardens bloomed along the stone pathways, and the sounds of childish laughter echoed through halls that had known only silence and whispered conspiracies for decades.

In the grand conservatory overlooking the Hudson River, three-year-old Annie sat at a polished mahogany table, happily coloring in a large picture book with bright purple and yellow crayons.
Standing nearby, watching her with a gaze full of fierce, unbreakable devotion, was Aleandro Castellano. He had stepped back from the day-to-day brutality of the syndicate, handing over operational control to a trusted council while consolidating his immense wealth into legitimate global investments and charitable foundations—especially focused on redeveloping neglected districts like the one in Brooklyn where he had first found his daughter.
Marcus walked into the conservatory, holding a sleek leather folder.
"Boss," Marcus said with a respectful nod. "The restructuring of the shipping logistics is complete. All remaining assets seized from Moretti’s network have been successfully transferred into the Sophia Castellano Foundation for underprivileged children."
"Good," Aleandro said without taking his eyes off Annie, who was proudly holding up a drawing of a wobbly purple cat.
"Look, Daddy!" Annie chirped brightly, running across the Persian rug and holding up the drawing for him to see. "It's a kitty! Just like Mommy's picture!"

Aleandro knelt down to her eye level, taking the paper with a tenderness that still amazed everyone who witnessed it. He looked into those wide, brilliant brown eyes—eyes that held the strength of a survivor and the boundless innocence of a child who had saved a king from his own darkness.
"It's magnificent, sweetheart," Aleandro said, kissing the top of her head. "Just like you."
