Sarah sat propped up against a bank of pillows, color slowly returning to her cheeks as the heavy sedatives cleared from her bloodstream. Ethan sat at the foot of her bed, happily coloring in a massive sketchbook with brand-new crayons provided by his grandfather.
The door swung open, and Richard walked in. He looked older—the revelation about Elizabeth had aged him a decade in seventy-two hours, etching deep, sharp lines around his mouth and eyes. Yet, beneath that exhaustion burned a fire more ferocious than anything the corporate world had ever witnessed.
"Mommy, look!" Ethan shouted happily, holding up a crude drawing of a lion and a grandfatherly figure wearing a crown. "Grandpa says we're going to live in the big castle by the lake!"
Sarah looked up, her eyes swimming with a mixture of tears and profound relief. She reached out a slender hand, and Richard rushed forward, taking her into his arms with a tenderness he hadn't shown since she was a little girl.
"I'm sorry, Dad," Sarah sobbed quietly against his chest. "I was so weak... I let them do that to my baby..."
"Hush now, my darling," Richard whispered, kissing the top of her head. "The debt has been paid. Mark and Claudia are facing life without parole. The prosecutors found the altered prescription logs in Claudia's private safe deposit box yesterday afternoon. Justice is being served in full."
Sarah pulled back, looking into her father’s eyes with sudden clarity. "What about us? What happens to Whitaker Global?"

Richard stood up straight, walking over to the window that overlooked the sprawling cityscape below. The sun was beginning to break through the heavy grey clouds, casting a golden hue over the towers bearing his family name.
"Whitaker Global belongs to the true bloodline now," Richard said firmly, turning back with a fierce, resolute smile. "Not to parasites, not to frauds. From this day forward, the trust is restructured. You are the Vice-Chair, Sarah. And Ethan... Ethan is the sole heir to everything."
