Chapter 18 - The Poisoned LedgerA scream of agony echoed through the marble salon—but it didn't come from Marius.

My mother dropped to her knees, clutching her shattered shoulder, blood spurting through her white cashmere suit.
I hadn't shot Marius. The moment I raised the gun, I had flicked my wrist six inches to the left, putting a bullet cleanly through my mother’s right collarbone, severing her nerve cluster and knocking the biometric ring off her hand.
Marius opened his eyes in utter shock.
"Bianca..." he gasped.
I walked over to my mother, stepped heavily on her wounded arm to pin her to the floor, and picked up the biometric ring from the marble floor.
"You underestimated two things, Mother," I said, looking down at her as she writhed in pain. "First, you thought three years with Marius made me your puppet. It didn't. It made me a predator."
"You... you traitorous little bitch!" Elena choked out, blood pooling under her cheek. "I gave you life!"
"And second," I continued coldly, slipping the biometric ring onto my own thumb, "you thought I needed you to run the Archon network."
I turned my back on her and walked straight to the digital wall screen above the fireplace. I pressed my thumb against the biometric scanner embedded in the frame.
BIOMETRIC IDENTIFICATION CONFIRMED: BIANCA ROSSI (SUPREME ARCHON ACCESS GRANTED).
The screen flashed red, then solid gold.
Lines of complex financial code began scrolling down the screen at blinding speed. The three hundred billion dollar shadow ledger was fully open before me—every account, every politician, every cartel, every secret bank node across the globe.
"What are you doing?!" Elena screamed from the floor. "You don't know the encryption keys! You'll trigger the self-destruct sweep!"
"I don't need to know your old keys, Mother," I said, my fingers flying across the touch-screen interface with terrifying precision. "I have a degree in international business, three years of managing Marius's global assets, and the master routing algorithm I created six months ago."
Marius stepped up beside me, watching in absolute awe as I re-coded the entire Archon infrastructure in real-time.
"You're shifting the funds," Marius realized, a dark, brilliant smile spreading across his face. "You're pulling the entire three hundred billion dollars out of the Archon network."
"I am liquidating the Archon Council," I corrected smoothly, executing the final master command. "I am sending fifty billion to global medical research foundations in my father's name. I am sending fifty billion to dismantle the human trafficking networks in Southern Europe."
"And the rest?" Marius asked, leaning close to my ear.
"The rest," I smiled wickedly, hitting the ENTER key, "is being deposited into our private, decentralized crypto-vault in Ravello."
The wall screen flashed black. A single message appeared in bold gold text:

ARCHON NETWORK DISSOLVED. ASSETS ZEROED.
My mother let out a horrific, gut-wrenching wail of pure defeat from the floor as her life's work was erased from existence in a single second.
