Chapter 10 - The Ultimate GiftOne year later, the snow fell softly over Manhattan once again, painting Riverside Drive in shades of sparkling silver and white.

Inside the brownstone off Central Park West, the air smelled of cinnamon, pine, and freshly baked cookies. Laughter echoed off the walls—real, genuine laughter that filled every corner of the house. There were family pictures on the mantel, crooked umbrella stands by the door, and shoes—lots of small and large shoes—kicked casually under a warm, wooden chair.
The dining table was filled not with untouched, sterile excess, but with friends, family, and people who had once known the biting sting of poverty and despair.
At the head of the table sat Julian Hale, wearing a ridiculous holiday sweater that Jenna had forced him to buy, holding little Daisy on his lap as she excitedly opened her presents.
Jenna walked out of the kitchen carrying a massive tray of roasted turkey, her hands no longer cracked or bleeding, but soft and strong. Julian looked up, catching her eye across the room. He didn't see an employee, and she didn't see a corporate titan. They saw each other—two broken souls who had found their way home through the harshest winter of their lives.

Julian smiled, raising his glass of sparkling cider toward her.
Jenna smiled back, resting her hand on the back of his chair, realizing with overwhelming gratitude that the most miraculous Christmas gifts never come wrapped in paper—they come wrapped in second chances.
