Chapter 9 - A New Dawn on Riverside DriveJenna looked down at the folder, then up at Julian. "What is this?"

"The federal investigation will restore the assets stolen from Carter Logistics," Julian explained calmly. "Furthermore, the board of directors has authorized a full restitution package, backdated with interest. But that's corporate business."

He slid the folder a little closer.

"Inside there," Julian continued, "is the deed to a fully furnished brownstone off Central Park West. And... a standing offer for you, Jenna. Not as a cleaning lady. As the new Director of Corporate Philanthropy for Hale Enterprises. I need someone with your resilience, your morals, and your fire to fix the damage my company has done to families like yours."

Jenna stared at the folder, the world spinning around her. The crushing weight of debt, the freezing cold, the endless nights of terror and exhaustion—evaporating in a single, surreal moment.

"Mommy?" Daisy whispered, rubbing her eyes sleepily against Jenna's shoulder. "Can we have a Christmas tree now?"

Jenna looked down at her daughter, then looked across the table at Julian Hale. The billionaire was smiling—a real, unguarded smile that transformed his harsh features into something warm and human.

"Yes, baby," Jenna whispered, a tear slipping down her cheek as she reached out and took the folder. "We can have as many trees as we want."
