Chapter 6 - Judgment in the Grand Hall

The silence in the grand hall was absolute. Every guest, politician, and rival boss watched in stunned awe as the tables turned completely in a matter of seconds.
Alessandro stopped just two feet away from David.
Compared to the towering, imposing figure of the Moretti boss, David suddenly looked very small, very young, and utterly defeated.
"Please... Uncle Alessandro," David whimpered, dropping heavily to his knees on the cold marble, tears of sheer terror springing to his eyes. "I was pushed... the Russians, they threatened my family, they—"
Alessandro raised a single hand. David instantly shut his mouth, trembling violently.
"Do not insult my intelligence by lying at the end, David," Alessandro said quietly, his voice devoid of anger, sounding more like a judge delivering a final verdict. "You wanted the throne. You wanted the power. You were willing to blow up an eight-year-old boy—your own blood, in a way, considering how close our families were—just to satisfy your greed."
Alessandro turned to Marcus, who stepped forward, his face grim.
"Marcus," Alessandro said softly. "He is your brother's son. I will give you the right to choose his fate."
Marcus stared down at his nephew. The man who had tried to murder an innocent child, betray the family that raised him, and hand an empire over to foreign enemies. Marcus raised his pistol, safety clicking off with a crisp, echoing sound.
For a long moment, Marcus looked down the barrel at David. Then, he slowly lowered the gun an inch, looking up at Alessandro.
"He doesn't die today, boss," Marcus said, his voice steady and cold as ice. "Death is too merciful for a traitor. We send him to the Black Rock facility in upstate New York. Solitary confinement. No visitors. No light. Let him spend the next fifty years wondering what it feels like to be truly forgotten."
Alessandro nodded slowly. "So be it."

Before David could even scream or beg for mercy, two massive Moretti guards hauled him up by his arms, dragging his kicking, screaming body out of the grand hall and into the rainy night. The Bratva mercenaries were zip-tied and led away just as swiftly.
Within minutes, the hall was cleared of the chaos. The guests stood in stunned silence, realizing they had just witnessed a masterclass in syndicate survival.
