🔥 CHAPTER 3 — "THE WOLVES SAVED HIS LIFE... BUT THE OLD RANGER DISCOVERED A SECRET FAR MORE TERRIFYING THAN HE EVER IMAGINED!"

The entire country called Thomas "the Ranger Protected by Wolves."
Television crews gathered outside his small wooden cabin.
Reporters begged him for interviews.
Wildlife experts argued on national television about whether wolves could truly remember a human after twenty years.
Thomas answered every question with the same quiet smile.
"They weren't protecting me because I was special."
"They were protecting someone who once chose compassion instead of fear."
But while the public celebrated the miracle, Thomas couldn't stop thinking about one detail.
The poachers had returned.
Not to rescue him.
Not even to make sure he was dead.
They had come back looking for something.
During the investigation, officers searched the illegal logging site.
Hidden beneath a pile of freshly cut pine branches, they found a rusted steel hatch buried under the snow.
When they forced it open, everyone fell silent.
A narrow staircase disappeared deep underground.
The air that escaped smelled of diesel fuel, damp earth, and chemicals.
Thomas frowned.
"I've worked here for thirty years..."
"There has never been a bunker in this forest."
Police officers descended carefully with flashlights drawn.
What they discovered shocked even veteran detectives.
The underground tunnel stretched for hundreds of feet.
Inside were stacks of illegal animal traps, forged forestry permits, stolen logging equipment, crates of rare animal pelts, and detailed maps marking protected nesting areas.
But the largest room contained something even worse.
Rows of cages.
Most were empty.
Others still held terrified animals too weak to stand.
Foxes.
Lynxes.
Eagles.
Even two frightened wolf pups.
Thomas's eyes filled with tears.
"This wasn't about cutting trees..."
"It was a wildlife trafficking operation."
One detective noticed dozens of shipping documents.
The paperwork showed years of illegal activity.
Millions of dollars.
International buyers.
Someone powerful had been protecting the operation.
Back above ground, the arrested poachers refused to answer questions.
Until one of them finally laughed.
"You think we're the bosses?"
"We're just workers."
The detective leaned closer.
"Then who hired you?"
The man slowly smiled.
"You'll never arrest him."
"He owns half this county."
The room fell silent.
Thomas suddenly remembered something.
A black luxury SUV.
He had seen it parked near the forest many times over the past year.
Whenever it appeared, strange tire tracks always led into protected areas.
At the time, he thought nothing of it.
Now...
Everything suddenly made sense.

The investigation had only begun.
And someone far more dangerous had just realized Thomas was still alive.
