🔥 CHAPTER 7 — "AFTER THE RANGER'S DEATH, STRANGE THINGS BEGAN HAPPENING IN THE FOREST... NO ONE BELIEVED THE LEGEND UNTIL THEY SAW IT THEMSELVES!"

Ten years passed.

Black Ridge Forest became one of the most protected wilderness areas in the country.

Visitors came from every state to hike its quiet trails, photograph its wildlife, and hear the legendary story of the old ranger who had once been saved by wolves.

Thomas was gone.

He had passed away peacefully at the age of eighty-five, leaving behind nothing more than a modest cabin, a weathered ranger's hat, and thousands of memories shared by those whose lives he had touched.

His funeral was unlike any the nearby town had ever seen.

Hundreds of people gathered beneath towering pines.

Children carried young tree saplings instead of flowers.

Former rangers stood shoulder to shoulder in silent respect.

Even the toughest firefighters wiped tears from their eyes as Thomas's old wooden casket was lowered into the frozen ground overlooking the forest he had loved more than anything.

As the ceremony ended, a distant howl drifted across the valley.

Then another.

Soon dozens of wolves answered from every direction.

The mourners stood motionless.

No one spoke.

The forest itself seemed to be saying goodbye.

Months later, Ethan became the new chief ranger.

He worked hard to honor everything Thomas had taught him.

But strange reports soon began arriving.

Campers claimed they had been guided back to safety by a large gray wolf during heavy snowstorms.

Lost hikers said they always found fresh wolf tracks leading toward rescue stations.

Several children insisted an old man wearing a faded green ranger jacket had appeared just long enough to point them toward the correct trail before quietly disappearing into the trees.

Most people laughed.

"Just old mountain stories."

Until one winter night.

A violent blizzard trapped a school bus carrying fourteen children on a remote forest road.

Snow buried the tires within minutes.

Temperatures fell below freezing.

The driver lost radio contact.

Rescue teams searched desperately through whiteout conditions but couldn't locate the vehicle.

Hours passed.

Hope began fading.

Then Ethan noticed something impossible.

A line of fresh wolf tracks.

Perfectly straight.

Not wandering.

Not hunting.

As though someone had deliberately left a trail for rescuers to follow.

Trusting his instincts, Ethan ordered the team to follow them.

After nearly three miles through deep snow...

The missing school bus appeared.

Every child was alive.

The driver later whispered something that none of the rescuers ever forgot.

"We thought we were going to die."

"But all night long..."

"The wolves stayed around the bus."

"They never let anything come near us."

May you like

Ethan quietly smiled.

Some promises, he realized, never end.
